Kijabe is about 45 minutes (if the traffic is good) northwest on a good road from Nairobi.

The mission station at Kijabe was founded 100 years ago and now is home to Moffat College of Bible, Kijabe Hospital (a teaching hospital for Kenyan doctors), Bethany Crippled Childrens' Center, a school of nursing, a printing house, a radio station and Rift Valley Academy.

Kijabe and Nairobi are in the same time zone.
